The grapes for this wine come from old Carignan vines, some of which are up to 80 years old. A variety many will not be familiar with, it is a really startling and profoundly enjoyable red, with lush fruits and soft integrated tannins.
Carignan is a grape that is planted throughout the Mediterranean but is usually blended with others. Here the grape is allowed to take centre stage and it really delivers.
Purple red with lovely aromas of blackberry and vanilla. Dense and velvety, intense red berries, and a lingering finish.
